Michelle Ledesma: Volunteer Spotlight

“I have been volunteering with Furry Friends for one year now,” says Michelle.

“The reason that I got involved was because I worked at another shelter and, through them, became familiar with Furry Friends. Now, I’m happy to say that I’m a foster parent!

“My favorite part about volunteering is being given the opportunity to enrich the lives of kittens, adult cats and seniors. On the other hand, my greatest challenge is trying not to fall in love with all of them. And the reason I give back to the community in this way is because it makes my heart whole.

“Outside of Furry Friends, I work as a home health-aide for seniors. The one issue I’m particularly passionate about is senior foster care. At home, I do indeed have pets of my own: five cats and two seniors.”
