Tundra and Amanda Hyatt and Maria Destree: Furry Friends Fur-Ever

“Once known simply as Wickett, our newly adopted kitten now sports the grand name of Tundra Borealis Hyatt-Destree!” Amanda says.

“Tundra isn’t our first kitten, though. We adopted him because we had rescued a young kitten from a life on the street and he needed a friend. We saw him online and met him at PetSmart, and while he wasn’t our first choice, he came to us out of the kennel and we loved his personality.

“He adjusted immediately to our home, fits in perfectly, and has only positively impacted our lives. Tundra has the most playful personality of any kitten we’ve ever had, and it’s such a joy to watch him play. We all love him to pieces. Not to mention the fact that he and our former stray kitten are now inseparable. They’re about a month apart in age, and Tundra is the younger of the two.

“He loves crinkly balls, springs and rubber cat bands most, and plays well independently or with his brother. Oddly enough, Tundra likes being petted and cuddled, and yet he has absolutely no idea how to get comfortable to cuddle while sleeping. And he’s a ‘scaredy cat’ when he hears a strange noise or one he doesn’t like, but he quickly comes out of his shell.

“Without a doubt, Tundra’s endearingly entertaining, and nothing is as much fun as watching him frisk and frolic about, here, there and everywhere. Then, at night, although he sleeps in our bed and loves being near us, we often have to kick him out because he’s playing!”
