Rico and Ember and Stephanie Lawrence : Furry Friends Fur-Ever Tail

“When I decided it was time to get a kitten, I knew that I wanted two: a male and a female,” says Stephanie. “I also knew that I wanted to adopt. I wanted to give homeless kittens a home with lots of love!

“I searched the Furry Friends’ website daily for over two weeks. I kept seeing Noodle’s profile and I was always drawn to him because his eyes looked so sweet. I decided to meet him, and when I did, I knew that I needed him in my life and that he had to come home with me! He not only kept rubbing his head on my hands, he was extremely curious and especially confident that I adopted him, and because of his confidence, I changed his name to Rico.

“After a week with Rico, I knew that he needed a companion. I recalled seeing a female kitten’s profile that interested me and went to meet her. When I arrived, however, she was scared and wanted nothing to do with me. As luck would have it, she shared the same cage as a six-month-old kitten named Daisy, who immediately leapt into my arms and started loving on me.
"Once I’d given her some love, I put her back in the cage and tried, one more time, to take out the other kitten. But again, she was so frightened that she jumped back into the cage. That’s when Daisy ‘seized the moment’ and sprang into my arms! I promptly adopted her and changed her name to Ember because of the orange in her coat and her light brown-orange eyes.

“Although I’ve had kittens before, these two have truly won my heart in such a deep and profound way! Rico has adjusted very well and loves being the center of attention. He loves to play and is so friendly with everyone, including children. It took Ember some time, though, to adjust. At first, she was afraid of almost everything and liked to run and hide. Now she’s not afraid of anything, and is as sweet and loving as can be. She and Rico are best friends.

“Both Rico and Ember percolate with personality, LOVE receiving plenty of attention and affection and LOVE checking out everything in their environment. They also love sleeping by my side or by my boyfriend’s side at night. When they’re not sleeping with us, they snuggle together in the cat tree that they love.

“They have both fit so perfectly into my family. Not only have they brought so much love and joy into our lives, they have helped me with my anxiety. and I consider them my emotional support animals. I may have helped save their lives, but they have also saved mine!

“Thank you, Furry Friends, for such amazing kittens.”
