Obie and the Lys: Furry Friends Fur-Ever

“Being cat lovers, we’ve always had cats in the past,” says Kelci. “After looking at numerous photos of kitties on the Furry Friends website, my husband Hai and I attended one of their adoption events at PetSmart.

“There we met Willis, whose new name is Obie. We chose him because I loved his soft, fluffy appearance and because we didn’t want a baby kitten but a somewhat older kitty. His adjustment to the hustle and bustle of our home was gradual, with him remaining in one room and watching safely from a distance before being slowly introduced to our other pets.
“Everyone who meets Obie loves his silly personality. He’s curious, playful and particularly demanding of snuggle time. He’s like a sour patch candy -- either sweet or spicy – and, in typical little brother fashion, he loves pestering his three older cat sisters. That said, though, he gets along excellently with them and with the resident dogs.

“While Obie loves playing with his catnip toys, he especially enjoys finding things to carry around and drop here, there and everywhere. He also loves to get into my knitting yarn during the night and then set ‘booby traps’ all over the house!

“Obie, who LOVES being held and snuggled, absolutely adores being carried around like a baby while you tell him how handsome he is. One of his most endearing habits is giving you love bites and reminding you that he needs to be petted and adored at all times.

“Sleep at night? Obie’s fighting ninjas at night! He sleeps during the day in a kitty bed or on my lap while I work.”
