Muffin and the Slunakers: Furry Friends Fur-Ever

“Our current cat, Polly, was adopted from Furry Friends,” Britni says, “and it made perfect sense to adopt another one from Furry Friends as well.

“We attended an adoption event at PetSmart, and my husband actually went in and saw the cats while we went to bathroom. He told us that he had held a cat named Pepper and said, ‘Oh no, this is the one!’ before the rest of us met her. And he was right: she was just so cute and so sweet.

“Our son renamed her Muffin, but we often refer to her as the Mufflepuff or Mupplestiltskin. And she has been the sweetest little cat from the moment we brought her home. She not adjusted very quickly, our younger kitty, Polly, immediately bonded with her, and they have been best friends ever since. All of our cats get along well though.

“Muffin brings us a lot of joy. She is supremely sweet and she loves to play. Quite the character, she loves little pompom toys – either playing fetch with them or carrying them around everywhere she goes. We often find them sitting next to the food or water bowls or left on our bed, always a sign of where she has been that day. She also likes playing with cat wand toys (like a fish on a string type of toy) and occasionally walking on the cat wheel.

“Muffin definitely enjoys being petted, coming to curl up next to whomever is on the couch or snuggling cozily with Polly. Most endearing about Muffin is how sweet her face is and the fact that she has the tiniest little meow. She often likes to ‘talk’ to whomever is nearby, just ‘mowing’ with her tiny, little meow, and it always makes us smile.

“At night, Muffin can usually be found cuddling at the foot of our bed. She is a hilarious sleeper! Most often, she sleeps on her back stretched out as far as she can with her arms and legs out like a long, little cat noodle.”
