Feng Min and Isabela Colin: Furry Friends Fur-Ever
“I was fortunate enough to have had one cat when living with my parents. I got him when I was 13, had him for 9 years, and he’s still living with them.
“I found Feng Min, then called Penelope, on Pet Finder and finally met her at a Furry Friends adoption event at PetSmart. I chose her because, ever since I was young, I had wanted a black kitty and because I loved her orange eyes as well.
“On the first day of living here, she was terribly frightened, but by the following morning, she was already very comfortable with me. Feng has made a tremendous difference in my life. She’s helped me look forward to coming home, and being able to care for someone other than myself has helped with my emotional struggles. Since I live alone, I no longer feel as lonely with her here.
“Feng loves playing with clothes! She’ll sometimes steal my socks from my bedroom, carry them off and put them somewhere else. She also loves hanging toys and chasing things around the room. As far as affection goes, though, she occasionally likes being petted, but she hates cuddles and she doesn’t like being picked up.
“What I find especially endearing about Feng is that whenever new people meet her, they say she’s the most interesting cat they’ve ever met. She also LOVES burrowing under blankets and LOVES going underneath people’s legs. Being an extremely chatty kitty, she can, quite happily, meow for hours. I’ve never had a chatty cat before, so this is a new experience for me.
“I didn’t buy a cat bed for Feng because when I bought one for my first cat, he never wanted to sleep with me. This has worked well for Feng because she always sleeps specifically with me, on my bed. She doesn’t like sleeping alone. If she’s already asleep on her cat tree in the living room, should she wake up and see me go into the bedroom, she climbs down and comes to bed with me!”
