Junior and the Walkers: Furry Friends Fur-Ever

“Junior showed up in our backyard mid-December of 2025,” says Lynda. “We followed the usual protocol of attempting to find his owner, but we never did.

“He slept either on our patio or on our neighbor’s patio until he was injured and we had him treated at the emergency vet. We also had him neutered and vaccinated and left him outside because we already had five cats in the house – aged 15, 12, 11, 9 and 4, all of them backyard rescues.

“It wasn’t long before he was injured again, resulting in more trips to the vet. We hoped that he might find a home through Furry Friends and left him in their care. However, by the time we returned to our house, we were devastated at the thought of having abandoned him after he had clearly been abandoned before.

“He’s now inside -- sleeping on the bed with the other cats, and he’s here to stay! He’s truly a character, extremely energetic, always mischievous and always ‘talking.’ We named him Junior because he looks like a ginger cat that showed up in our yard in 2022. Before we moved here, we were very involved with TNR and managed a feral colony.

“Junior is happy being on our laps and will sleep right up against us to the point of being annoying at times. He has many toys, but prefers balls. I place a ping-pong ball in the bathtub and he bangs it around. The more noise it makes, the happier he is. He’s always trying to get the older cats to play, but he gets out of control with the wrestling, and that’s when we lovingly call him Mr. T (for trouble).”
