Honey Bun and Allison Dillinger and Abby Wood: Furry Friends Fur-Ever

“Our old cat, Ellie, passed away several years ago at 21 years of age, and we miss her every day,” says Allison. “We currently have a black kitten named Little Baby.

“After viewing the various postings on the Furry Friends website, we decided to attend one of their adoption events at the Vancouver PetSmart. It was there that we met Brightheart. Not only were we drawn to him by his long orange fur and beautiful amber eyes, we also liked that he was similar in age to our Little Baby.

“We promptly adopted him and ended up changing his name to Honey Bun because he looks like an iced honey bun! At first, Honey Bun and Little Baby were slightly unsure of each other, but within three days they became the best of kitty friends, wrestling and playing all over the house.

“To say that it makes us happy seeing them playing and getting along so well together is truly an understatement. We LOVE having both of them with us. As for Honey Bun: he loves to play with toys on a stick and a toy mouse made of real fur.  He also enjoys climbing the wall-mounted scratching posts.

“Although he’s a cuddle bug, it’s strictly on his terms so far. He does, however, love to come and sit in my lap while I’m reading. He’s just a real sweetheart! He especially loves cuddling with Little Baby and they often take naps together.

“At night, Honey Bun likes to sleep by our feet. He’s a restless boy, though, and he comes and goes as he pleases.”
