Grimm and Brooke Grams : Furry Friends Fur-Ever

“I remember walking into PetSmart for some food for my two resident cats, male Notixx and female Pocky, and being offered some kittens to hold,” Brooke says. “Grimm was the first and only one I picked up because of how she cuddled into my neck. She was so cute as she fell asleep in my arms.

“When I adopted her, she was called Clover, but she didn’t seem like a Clover. I live with my boyfriend, my sister and her boyfriend, and after everyone had met her, I asked them to vote on a new name – and Grimm was it! Her adjustment to living here went more smoothly than I had ever expected. Notixx stayed by the door and after three days I let Grimm out. He followed her everyone.

“If I ever wondered where she was, I only needed to find Notixx. I had wanted to find him a friend, and I couldn’t have chosen a better kitten for him than Grimm, who’s quite literally perfect. Notixx would watch her sleep and even save some of his food for her on his plate! Pocky is an interesting cat, sticks to herself quite a bit, but she does play with them every once in a while.

“Grimm loves everyone she meets. She loves making the rounds from person to person ensuring that she receives pets and kisses from them all. She also loves being held. The other day she lay down on my sister’s shoulders while she was making breakfast. My two other cats are wary and usually hide when certain people come over, but Grimm is always out. She not only has a great temperament, she’s extremely food motivated.

“She so loves playing with toys that she’ll play until she passes out. In fact, she loves feather toys a little too much, forcing us to hide them for the other cats to chase when she’s not around! She also loves being outside on our catio. When I adopted her, I lived in a third story apartment, and she loved sitting on the patio chair after breakfast and sleeping out there too.

“Especially endearing to me is how ‘talkative’ Grimm is. Whenever she wakes up from a nap, she emits these teeny tiny meows. Whenever she decides that it’s cuddle time, she’ll stick her head into my neck and make the cutest little noises. She’s also independent in such interesting ways. I have a cat tree with removable fluffy beds that she removes and deposits elsewhere for me to find later.

“At night, she sleeps in various places: on my chest, under the covers on my bed, on one of three cat trees, on a couch, a window bed and a bed on top of a desk close to the ceiling.”
