Griffin and Aimee Heigold: Furry Friends Fur-Ever
“I currently live on my own with a female dog named Maisy and a male cat named Sawyer,” says Aimee. “After the loss of my female Himalayan, I could see how much Sawyer needed a friend.
“And so I visited the Furry Friends’ shelter, where I met Griffin. The reason I chose him was because I was looking for the ‘magic’ of an orange boy -- and Griffin was just that boy. I kept his name since it fits him in his braver moments.
“When I brought him home, I gave him his space. It took about a week, but that time was essential, allowing for the proper interactions and socialization between Griffin and Sawyer under the door. Now Griffin is a great new addition to our entire family. He and Sawyer have bonded completely, and not only has Maisy the female dog fully accepted him, Griffin has taken her over! In short, we’re truly a success story.
“Griffin loves cat springs, flying toys and all of the usual playthings. He’s an extremely easy boy to please. And he absolutely adores being petted and cuddled. He’s a cuddle bug with me as well as with Sawyer and Maisy. One of his most endearing habits is that he’ll decide when it’s time for cuddles. He’ll follow me around the house and curl up on me until I’ve cuddled him to his satisfaction!
“At night, Griffin will either sleep with Sawyer, in one of his various ‘adventure’ places or directly on top of me in my bed. Truthfully, he’s been amazing, and we all love him dearly.”
