Critter and Creature and Samantha Rough: Furry Friends Fur-Ever
“I had several mostly outdoor kitties growing up in a rural area, and didn’t have any until 2020,” Samantha says. “Now I have seven ... whoops!
“I foster failed two Furry Friends’ brothers, Critter (formerly Ditto) and Creature (formerly Domino). Fortunately, they both got along well with my other cats, especially my male kitties, and nowadays they all play happily together.
“Critter is, without a doubt, the weirdest cat I’ve ever met! He has the strangest, most unique mannerisms, is ever so silly, and is such a sweetie lover boy. Creature is the BIGGEST cuddle bug. When he was integrated into the rest of my ‘pack,’ he slept curled up on my side every night, and since then, he’s become my little shadow who faithfully follows me around the house.
“As for their especially silly quirks and most endearing habits? They both lie in the litter box as if it’s a bed. I think that it feels like their safe space. Critter ‘sploots’ with his belly on the ground, his front legs forward and his back legs backward quite often, which I’ve never seen a cat do. He also loves belly rubs, being held upside down, and he runs to the sink every morning to drink water while I make my coffee. Every. Single. Morning.
“Creature sometimes pretends to attack me when I come around corners. It’s absolutely the cutest thing ever. He also ‘supervises’ me fulltime while I’m cleaning out the litter boxes, and he never misses a shift!”
