Gary and the Steppers : Furry Friends Fur-Ever

“We met Gary at PetSmart,” Amy says. “I asked specifically for a male kitty with a chill temperament, and when she handed me Gary, I was smitten. And he’s gorgeous to boot!

“We kept his original name because it went so well with Gus, our slightly older rescue cat. As soon as we brought Gary home he not only adjusted immediately, he immediately bonded with Gus. Gus took on the role of ‘single dad’ and doted on ‘baby’ Gary, while Gary, for his part, never hid or acted like a new cat.

“He’s had such a remarkably positive effect on our lives because he’s so very, very sweet and available. He’s more like a dog than a cat, and our entire family adores him. I can’t emphasize this enough: Gary is the sweetest cat I’ve ever owned. He’s never hissed or growled at anyone.

“Gary loves his brother Gus most. Then he loves boxes, bags, hampers and tunnels. He chases his tail for hours! And he’s the definition of a love bug. He purrs when he simply sees you. He’s always open to love and will immediately roll onto his back. He’s even rolled off beds, laps, couches, ottomans, etc. He won’t even eat alone,

“One of his endearing habits that always makes me smile is that he’s a ‘talker.’ He’ll sit in the kitchen and ‘yell’ until someone gives him some love. All of our friends want to take him home because he’s so cute and so silly.

“At night, Gary, not surprisingly, sleeps with Gus.”
