Juniper and Emily Thiessen : Furry Friends Fur-Ever

“Juniper is the first cat I myself have adopted, but not the first cat I’ve lived with,” says Emily. “And although I changed her name from Aria to Juniper, I mostly call her Junie or Junebug.

“When I saw her online, I was drawn to her eyes and her sweet little face. Gray is also my favorite color, and that made it perfect. Her description said that she had a lot of love to give, which is definitely true!

“She adjusted to our home quite quickly. While she was scared for the first day, she snuggled with me that same night. Everyone loves having her around. My parents love her and play with her, and she immediately warmed up to all of my friends. Junie loves to play, especially with her enrichment treat mat and her octopus string toy. She enjoys pets and she LOVES scratches, especially under her chin. She’s fairly independent during the day, but in the evenings she’s always around, and she’s a very vocal kitty: we chat all the time!

“One of my favorite quirks of hers is when she flops over on the ground in front of me and shows me her belly. She genuinely enjoys belly rubs! Since cats usually don’t like them, I feel extremely lucky. She’s never swatted at me. When she’s had her fill, she simply rolls away. It’s adorable. Also, when we’re playing, she does this little head flop thing. It’s difficult to explain, but it’s perfect.

“Junie sleeps in bed with me every night. She usually sleeps by my side or by my feet, and sometimes when I wake up, she’s curled up on my chest or back. She’s truly the perfect cat for me in every way, and I always relish the opportunity to talk about her!

“Thank you, Furry Friends!”
