Elliott and the Carrs: Furry Friends Fur-Ever
“We had a Lynx Point Siamese who lived to be 16 and we were devastated when he died,” Michelle says. “I wanted another Siamese, but it was winter, and I wanted a kitten. I found Coco on Craig's List and he was a beautiful kitten. Unfortunately, however, he had a horrible accident when he was seven months old and was killed. I was so traumatized by that!
“My husband and I knew that we wanted another cat. I saw Toad on the Furry Friends FB page along with four or five of his littermates, two of whom had Siamese markings. But because he had a perfect mustache, I assumed he’d already been taken. And yet, when we got to PetSmart, he was still available. The moment we adopted him, we changed his name to Elliot, after the actor Sam Elliot with the mustache.
“It took a while for him to fully adjust to living with us. He seems to get tummy troubles whenever he’s stressed, and since he wasn’t eating and losing weight, we took him to the vet who suggested we try different food. Finally, all is good. He brings so much joy to our lives! We adore our Elliot! We’ve learned that our lives aren’t complete without a cat.
“Elliot loves toys and he plays constantly with anything and everything. Although he likes being with people and isn’t afraid of anyone, he only enjoys being petted and cuddled from time to time. One of his most endearing habits that always makes us smile is when he does what I call ‘Halloween Kitty,’ where he arches his back and turns sideways and hops. It is hilarious!”
“At night, when we go to sleep, we have to lock him out of the bedroom because he’ll attack us to play!”
