Dahlia and Louie and John Stevens and Sharon Dawson: Furry Friends Fur-Ever

“We’ve been blessed to have had cats in the past,” says John. “We spotted Dahlia and Louie, then called Aster, on the Furry Friends website and met them shortly thereafter at an adoption event at PetSmart.

“Sharon and I chose them because the two kitties reminded us of Ruthie, our former Tuxedo cat. Fortunately, their adjustment to their new surroundings was immediate, although it’s still a work in progress where our dog is concerned. Louie, however, ‘swears’ that they will be best friends one of these days!

“Both Dahlia and Louie bring so much mischief and add so much joy to our lives. They’re so very, very sweet. In fact, we call Louie, ‘Louie Lover.’ And to say  that they love strings, strings and more strings is an understatement, not to mention the Christmas tree now.

“It’s not surprising that Louie loves to be petted anytime and anywhere. And while Dahlia does as well, it has to be on her terms. What we find especially endearing about her, though, is the way she lies with her front paws crossed all the time. It’s very cute.

“At night, they sleep in my office, which is also where their food bowls and litter box are kept.”
