Zora and Mia and Jen Davis: Furry Friends Fur-Ever

“My partner and I currently have two cats, Toby, a senior cat and Moo who’s younger,” says Jen. “I met Zora and Mia (then called Robin and Rooney) at the shelter where I volunteer twice a week on Saturday evenings.

“I remember the first time I met them. Four siblings were in a space together and Mia was up on top of the cat tree hissing at everyone. The others were cowering under a bench, and although we worried about approaching them because Mia was so upset, we wanted to comfort the others and let them know they were safe.

“I wanted to adopt these two sisters because I loved their relationship: they were affectionate with each other, loved playing together and were very sweet with people. I also sensed that, despite Mia’s initial hissing, they were confident and easygoing. They adapted to living here quickly, but because Toby and Moo were concerned and scared, we introduced them all very slowly.

“Now, to our delight, Zora and Mia enjoy engaging with Moo, which suits her perfectly, giving her the sisters she always wanted, while Toby, whom they both respect, gets more alone time. And we couldn’t be happier! They’re very, very playful.  Zora loves the laser light and Mia loves wand toys. They also love chasing each other and going into the catio that I bought because they loved the one at the shelter so much.

“They both ADORE affection and love being petted and cuddled. I can pick them both up and hold them. Mia likes to sit on my shoulder, which I love. They’re also very affectionate towards one another. For her part, Mia makes me smile because she ‘talks’ a lot! She makes a trilling sound to me and to the other cats. As to their sleeping arrangements this winter: the sisters frequently sleep in the cat tree basket together.

“Overall, I’m so grateful to Furry Friends for not only rescuing Zora and Mia, but for helping all of the other cats here. I feel very lucky to have them in my life: they’re such loving and interesting companions. I’m happy that Moo and Toby are happy too. I love my family!”
