Sarah Gill: Volunteer Spotlight

“I have volunteered with Furry Friends for six months,” says Sarah. “The reason I got involved is because my neighbor is a volunteer, and he told me about you.

“I am a foster parent and I’m currently fostering seven kittens. It goes without saying that my favorite part about volunteering is the KITTENS! My greatest challenge, though, is that it’s a lot of work, and they have all figured out how to escape their room! As for my proudest moment: Ahhh … I love when they all want to sleep on me and kiss me.

“Outside of fostering, I work as a system administrator at a national nonprofit organization. When asked about the reason that I give back, it’s the only way I’ve ever known. I’m particularly passionate about the following issues -- health care for all, abortion rights and separation of church and state.

“At home, besides my foster kitties, I live happily with three nine-year-old cats, Scout, Paul Simon and Leo the Great.

“Just for fun: I sew, garden and enjoy creating little watercolor cards for my friends.”
