Megan Shellman: Volunteer Spotlight

“I have been volunteering with Furry Friends since August 2026,” says Megan. “I’m on a service mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and I wanted to help out with cats as part of it. I heard about Furry Friends and signed up. It’s been so cool!

“I volunteer for two hours a week at the Milky & Coco’s Kit-Tea Café where I help to keep everything clean for the cats. While my favorite part about volunteering is hanging out with the cats and learning about my fellow volunteers, my proudest moments are helping guests play with the cats and seeing how much fun they have.

“Although I’m not working at the moment, I like to learn and to tutor. As to why I give back: I myself have been given so much and have so much peace that I want to do something good while I can.

“At home, I have one cat of my own, a grey tabby.”
