Kaitlynn Holder: Volunteer Spotlight

“I began volunteering with Furry Friends several months ago,” Kaitlynn says. “One of my friends had already started volunteering and referred me to you.

“I currently devote two hours of my time every other week at the Halfway House during the Saturday PM shift. My favorite part about volunteering is taking care of and playing with the cute cats, while my proudest moments are ensuring that all of them feel loved. On the other hand, my greatest challenge is time: I would volunteer more if I only had more time.

“Outside of Furry Friends, I work in construction sales at Parallel Architectural Products, a company that my dad founded but sold to Armstrong World Industries in January. As to why I give back: I love cats and they need our help. I’m particularly passionate about animals receiving proper care and support, and believe that not everyone should be allowed to own animals.

“At home, we have four rescue cats: Tator Tot, Casserole, Chicken Alfredo and Chorizo. Chorizo, formerly Jupiter, is our newest kitten from Furry Friends!

“Just for fun: I love being at the coast! We try to get there several times during the summer and fall months. Once I graduate from college, I hope to pick up some new hobbies.”
