Elliott Marie Linder: Volunteer Spotlight

“I was a foster mom for Furry Friends several years ago,” says Elliott. “Then about four months ago, I started working at the shelter as a volunteer. I had fostered Linus and Trixie, a bonded pair with medical issues (a feeding tube), and fell in love with the organization!

“I currently volunteer for two hours a week, but after I finish school, I’m hoping to increase my hours. I deep clean the cats’ rooms and then socialize with them. I especially enjoy giving all of the cats the love, care and attention they need. My greatest challenge, though, is finding time for everything.

“Outside of Furry Friends, I presently work at Panera, and I’m a fulltime student studying Pharmacology at WSUV. The reason I give back is, quite simply, because it makes me happy. Furry Friends is easily my favorite part of the week. I’m particularly passionate about elderly cats and special needs cats. Since I have the capacity to give them the extra care they need, I make certain to do it as much as I can.

“While I currently live with four cats, I myself only have my wonderful one-eyed male, Mulder. Just for fun: I LOVE roller derby!”
