“We adopted a kitten named Mocha from Furry Friends in 2025,” says Ruby. “We also have two other cats.
“After seeing numerous kitties on the website, we paid a visit to the shelter where we met Pumpkin, then known as Venus. We originally chose her because of her beautiful eyes. But then we were informed that she had trouble at the adoption events because she got very anxious and tended to shut down which reminded us of one of our cats who’s very shy.
“Although her adjustment to living with us was gradual, Pumpkin’s personality was immediately so affectionate and so sweet – far different from the one she displayed at the shelter! To say that she’s positively affected our family’s lives is an understatement. We love her so much. She’s extremely cute and, being a ‘professional’ biscuit maker, she adores making biscuits on us
“She gets along well, for the most part, with the other kitties, although two of them are about to turn two, and they can be quite crazy at times. And yet, Pumpkin herself remains so very sweet. Then, when it comes to toys, she especially enjoys playing with feather wands.
“As far as being petted and cuddled are concerned, she not only loves being petted and cuddled, she ‘demands’ tummy rubs every day. Several of Pumpkin’s most endearing habits: she has the cutest meow and the funniest little run, and expects her breakfast promptly at 8:30AM – as if she knows what time it is!
“At night, she sleeps alone on the cat tree, and although she’ll occasionally lie down with us before bed, she tends to do her own thing.”
