Eddie and Oscar and the Stones: Furry Friends Fur-Ever

“We have had numerous cats in the past,” Lisa says, “and have adopted two from Furry Friends.

“In November of 2023, we adopted Eddie Spaghetti. Eddie shared the office with Tanika and Jazmynn at the shelter. He was an elderly cat when we adopted him, so he may have been overlooked. We wanted to ensure that the last years of his life were the absolute best they could be. He was with us for two years.

“Oscar was fostered in February of 2026 and adopted in June of 2026. Oscar was the ‘kitchen’ cat, and due to a skin condition, he had to wear a cone (usually the sunflower). We fostered him for several months, and after taking him to an animal dermatologist, he was put on the right medication and his skin cleared up! He was very happy not to wear the cone or silly pajamas any longer. We finally made it official and adopted him.

“Both cats settled in very well. They were also our first cats who were extremely outgoing, friendly and yet chill. Other cats we’ve had always hid when anyone came to the house. As for playing: Eddie loved playing with wand toys and excelled at jumping extremely high. Oscar loves playing with wand toys and balls, and especially loves using his cat tunnel. And although he also loves playing with us, he’ll often keep himself happily occupied with made-up cat games!

“Just like Eddie, Oscar is more than willing to cuddle with us and loves being petted and brushed. One of Eddie’s most endearing habits was the fact that he loved to jump and twist in the air. For Oscar’s part: he loves having his cheeks scratched and will flop onto his side very loudly and roll over to have his tummy petted. Then, like clockwork, every day, after he eats, he goes downstairs to use the litter box. As soon as he’s finished, he runs back up the stairs and races into the living room.

“At night, Oscar sometimes sleeps in our bed.”
