Neko and Nola and Teresa M. Thomas: Furry Friends Fur-Ever
“Joining my current cats are kittens Neko and Nola, formerly known as Charlie and Leslie,” Teresa says. “As soon as I saw them on the Furry Friends website, I immediately put in an adoption request.
“I chose these particular kittens because both of them are very unique looking. Neko has a completely brown coat with golden eyes while Nola is a Calico kitten with funny face patterns. When I brought them home, they both adjusted so well, becoming instant playmates. Although Neko can get rough at times, Nola just gives it right back to him!
“Honestly, they’ve brightened up our lives so very much. They’re crazy and do zoomies all day long, and then, when they decide it’s time to rest, they come and snuggle somewhere in my chair. At first, my two older female cats didn’t like or appreciate the energy the kittens brought, but now they’ve learned to tolerate them.
“Both Neko and Nala love playing with their various toys and with balls of string and are constantly wrestling each other. They’re also both very affectionate, come running when they hear my voice and love being petted and cuddled. And they each have the most endearing habits that make me smile. Besides parkour … neither Nola nor Neko fully ‘meows.’ Neko chirps or trills. He has this vocal that he does when he wants Nola or myself to find him. It sounds like an exotic jungle bird cry. At first we didn’t know what it was, and then we found Neko! Nola mumbles softly and chats away in this soft mumble, which isn’t cat-like at all.
“At night, both kittens sleep anywhere they please: sometimes in bed with me, sometimes in bed with my 84-year-old mother.”
