Moon and Jasmine Neal: Furry Friends Fur-Ever

“We saw Moon’s brother in the window of PetSmart and we were interested in meeting him,” says Jasmine. “But because he had already been adopted, we were told about another kitten in the back along with his beautiful mother. That was Luigi, now Moon Child! He had the sweetest temperament, and we fell in love with him.

“His adjustment to living here – and to my two other cats, Tripp and Jade, was immediate. Although Moon and my female cat were initially afraid of each other, he and my oldest male cat just bonded and became best friends. He took Moon under his wing, promptly started grooming him, and now Moon follows him around like a little duckling. He’s definitely picked up some of my older cat’s mannerisms.

“Every morning before work -- even if there’s food in the bowl -- they both meow at me simultaneously until I put more food in it … because … they might starve or something. LOL They also both simultaneously meow at me anytime -- especially if I dare put a foot inside the kitchen at night because they think it’s dinner time!

“Moon is so so sweet and quite a little mischief-maker, but I expect that from most kittens! While he won’t stay out of my plants, I love him anyway. He loves little spring toys, enjoys playing with all kinds of toys, and especially enjoys ripping the feathers off most of them. He also loves climbing to the top of the cat post and being ‘the king of everything.’

“Moon LOVES cuddling and being petted. I come home from work and as soon as I sit down, he immediately crawls up and curls himself in front of me. And he has the silliest – but funniest – quirks! Every time I walk past him, he attacks my feet. If my oldest cat is sitting with me, he either sits between us or on top of my other cat to get closer to me. And … he fights the mirror!

“At night, Moon either sleeps crooked right in front of me while I sleep on my side or on top of me on my side.”
