Lil Bit and Dawn Harris: Furry Friends Fur-Ever
“Being a cat person, I’ve always had cats in the past,” says Dawn.
“After seeing Lil Bit’s photo on the Furry Friends website, I inquired about her and was told that she was at PetSmart. So, of course, I went there to meet her. The reason I chose her was because she kept trying to leave with me! We just connected.
“Not surprisingly, her adjustment to living in my house was immediate. Quite simply, she is the best! She needed me as much as I needed her. (When I adopted her, I learned that she had been abandoned in a room for a week without food and had licked her tail and back legs raw, leaving her with no hair on them. Now all of her hair has grown back and she’s absolutely beautiful).
“I currently have a female labradoodle named Jersey Girl, and she and Lil Bit are the best of friends. They play happily together every day! Lil Bit also likes playing with her toy mice, but what she especially enjoys is playing with any little thing that she finds on the counters and on the floors … LOL. And as far as affection goes, she loves being petted and cuddled only at night or if she’s sitting in my lap.
“One of Lil Bit’s most endearing traits that always makes me smile is that she’s a ‘talker.’ She waits for me at the door when I get home and will meow and meow and meow until I come inside.
“At night, Lil Bit sleeps in bed with me, either on my legs or behind my legs.”
