Angel and Luna and Christi Williams: Furry Friends Fur-Ever

“I’ve had cats all my life,” says Christi. “They’re a constant source of love and support.

“They’ve always been a mixture of indoor and indoor/outdoor cats. But when I lost two indoor/outdoor cats in two years, which traumatized my 15-year-old son, I knew that my next cats would stay safely inside. After taking some time to heal, I reached out to Jenn and told her that we wanted to adopt two siblings. She immediately sent me the pictures of Angel and Luna (then called Lucia), and I met the sisters at PetSmart.

“I kept them in my bedroom for a few days since we have a 12-year-old female cat – she now tolerates them like a big sister would! Angel and Luna have brought us so much joy and have helped our hearts heal after losing another cat earlier this year.Their best ‘play toys’ are one another! They run up and down and all over our split-level house. They love toy mice, pipe cleaners, and any toys that they can pick up and take to different rooms.

“Angel will allow you to snuggle her and hold her like a baby. And although Luna will let you pet her and will lie on your lap, she doesn’t like to be held. They both enjoy their alone time as well as their social time – it’s the perfect mix. I always smile at the way Angel comes running when she hears the ice dispenser from the fridge in the hopes that you'll drop a piece so that she can play ‘ice hockey’ on the floor. Then there’s Luna’s little ‘merp’ of a meow and the way she pats at my hand until I pet her. We also call Angel ‘the flopper’ because she’ll walk into a room and flop over, and you can actually hear her hit the ground! Other times, she’ll walk right up to you, and instead of rubbing against your leg, she’ll flop.

“Both Luna and Angel bounce around at night. Sometimes Luna sleeps on top of me. They also snuggle with my son a good deal and with my husband. While he states that he doesn’t like cats, he really loves these two. They’re the first cats that he’s ever allowed to sleep on our bed.”
