Cinnamon and Mackenzie and the Moraleses: Furry Friends Fur-Ever
“We currently have a 6-year-old female tortie,” says Kathryn, “and we wanted two male kittens to keep her company.”
“We met Cinnamon (Cinny for short) and Mackenzie (Kenzie for short) at PetSmart and promptly adopted them because they were so stinkin’ cute! Their adjustment to living here was fairly quick. We kept them in one bedroom until they seemed more comfortable being in the whole house. Now they love to fly up and down the stairs.
“We love getting kitty snuggles, playing with them and watching them grow. They’re a bit more work than our older cat was, but the fact that they’re both SO cute makes it all worthwhile. The kittens are very curious and would love to play with her, but to my disappointment, she wants nothing to do with them. While she hisses a lot, she never attacks them. She just wants to be left alone.
“Both Cinny and Kenzie LOVE toys. It looks as if we have babies again with all of the toys strewn about everywhere! They love all of the traditional cat toys along with packing paper, water bottle caps, boxes, string and laser lights. And they’re affectionate. They definitely cuddle with us and like being petted. They also snuggle with each other a great deal.
“They follow us everywhere, and because they’re so very curious, they get into everything. What we find especially endearing about them is the way they’ll sleep in silly positions and the adorable way they’ll sometimes chirp when they’re excited. One of them will sleep practically on my face while the other one chills on the end of the bed.
“At night, Cinny and Kenzie are free to sleep anywhere in the house until they wake me up around 4AM. Then they’re put into a spare bedroom to wait until we – officially -- get up.”
