Huxley James and Declan Thomas and Toni Connell: Furry Friends Fur-Ever
“As a feline fancier, I’ve always had cats in the past,” says Toni.
“Adorably and originally named Badabing and Badaboom, I met the boys at their foster home with Jenn. The reason I chose them was because I wanted a bonded pair who would snuggle my face! When Jenn shared pictures of the boys doing exactly that, I knew it was meant to be.
“While Declan settled in very quickly, Huxley took a little bit more time to warm up to his new environment. Both of them, though, bring my children and me immense amounts of joy. They greet us at the door every time we get home and they truly make us feel loved.
“Agile and athletic, Declan and Huxley adore staying active. They both love using their scratching posts, crawling through cat tubes and playing with wooden toys that have balls and bells rolling around inside. They also love playing with strings on a stick, random kids’ toys and, yes, the occasional piece of garbage.
“As affectionate as they are active, they both love being petted. Declan is a big fan of belly rubs and of being on his back. Huxley, who took longer to warm up, just loves, loves his pets. Declan’s most endearing trait is his absolute obsession with belly rubs. For his part, Huxley loves to follow me everywhere I go. He will actually follow me back and forth down the hallway meowing, asking for attention. And last but not least, both Declan and Huxley LOVE suckling on blankets!
“At night, they’ll either sleep with me or with my children. Otherwise they can be found curled up comfortably and cozily together in their fluffy bed or at the top of the cat tower.”
