Hudson Hornet and Madelyn Murray: Furry Friends Fur-Ever

“I’ve never had a cat before,” says Madelyn. “All that changed, though, when my partner and I met Bowie at a Furry Friends adoption event at PetSmart. We chose him because he’s a polydactyl cat and renamed him Hudson Hornet, after one of my dream cars.

“His adjustment to living with us was immediate: he felt right at home. Hudson is one of the sweetest cats I’ve ever met. He’s extremely affectionate with people, and there isn’t a mean bone in his body. He loves going for walks outside on his leash, and we’ve even taken him to the coast, where he enjoyed the sand on the beach. I begin veterinary school this fall at WSU, and Hudson will be joining me. I’m so excited to start this next chapter of my life with him by my side.

“Hudson gets along very well with our dog. They play each night before bed and snuggle soon after. And speaking of playing … Hudson plays with anything and with anyone. He LOVES all toys, regardless of their shape, size or color. He not only loves being petted and cuddled, Hudson loves being held like a baby. I call him my ‘Velcro’ cat because he follows me everywhere.

“We endearingly refer to him as a ‘gobble goblin’ since he has an obsession with food. We actually have to feed him using a slow feeder.

“At night, Hudson always sleeps under the covers with my partner and me. He never sleeps alone. He loves constant human interaction.”
