Evvie and the Bergstedts: Furry Friends Fur-Ever
“Being a feline fancier, I’ve always had cats in my life,” says Jenna.
“We met Evvie, whose original name was, quite surprisingly, Jake the Girl, at PetSmart during a Furry Friends adoption event. We chose her because of her sweet, playful and fearless personality. But she’s also the prettiest kitty, and who wouldn’t fall in love with her extra toes!
“Happily, Evvie adjusted to life in our home almost immediately. She brings us so much joy, love and entertainment. We love playing with her and watching her personality bloom. And even better, she and our other cat Milo, who’s quite timid, not only get along wonderfully well, Evvie has helped him grow braver by the day. It’s so much fun watching them play and seeing their relationship develop more and more.
“Everything is a toy to Evvie. But she especially enjoys chasing wands, fishing rod type toys and the light from the laser pointer. Her high jumps are impressive! She likes being petted and cuddled, but on her own terms. She’s very much in her ‘teenage’ kitten phase at the moment, and yet whenever she wants affection, she lets us know, and we’re more than happy to give it to her.
“She has several endearing habits that make us smile. She loves playing with water from the faucet and is usually right next to me on the counter when I wash my face in the bathroom or in the kitchen when I’m washing dishes. She also likes to lie on top of our computers when we’re playing games or working.
“At night, Evvie either sleeps in a cat tree by our bed or on the arm of our couch.”
