Benny and Rabbit and Madeline Klein: Furry Friends Fur-Ever
“I fostered Benny for Furry Friends in February 2026 as a severe medical case and adopted him in April 2026,” says Madeline. “I then fostered Rabbit, previously Edith, on May 5, 2026, adopted her within two weeks, and now refer to her as Benny’s girlfriend because they’re in love! They spend hours each day playing and running around together, and Rabbit especially enjoys grooming and cuddling Benny.
“My kitties bring me so much joy every day, and I feel blessed to live with two very loving angels. Their personalities may be different, but I love them both so much and in unique ways. Rabbit is always by my side and purrs seriously whenever I look at her. If I do a workout on my floor, she’ll lie next to me the entire time demanding constant booty scratches. While Benny’s more independent, he loves to sit on the couch with me and sleep by my side throughout the night, refusing to get out of bed until I do.
“Rabbit is so obsessed with her spring toys that she chases them around the place for hours every day. She also likes to carry them through the house in her mouth. And since both kitties LOVE string and tissue paper, they’ll ‘argue’ over the paper on the ground just to rip it up and make a big mess!
“Both kitties adore kisses and cuddles. Benny, a Russian Blue mix, is the softest cat I’ve ever known, and Rabbit, being a ticked tabby, has the most unique coat. I love to give her attention while I admire her fur colors and patterns. They’re both so perfect in their own ways.
“Rabbit is my silly girl and Benny is my sweet angel. Rabbit always 'buries' her food in invisible sand and searches for the tags beneath my rugs so that she can tear them to shreds. She sits in the window for hours every day and ‘chats’ with the birds and squirrels. The neighbor’s children also enjoy chatting with her! Benny has such large, green eyes that he looks like an animated Pixar character. He and Rabbit always make me laugh when they play because I can see a different side of him as compared with his usual sweet big eyes and observing behavior.
“At night, they usually sleep curled up together by my side. Sometimes I struggle with insomnia, so I spend hours giving them cuddles and kisses. They purr the entire time and make me feel so cozy. Even if I want to sleep in, they never wake me up and stay by my side until I get out of bed.”
