Benny and Marvin and Katherine Paul and Perry Groves: Furry Friends Fur-Ever

“Having known the joy and enrichment cats bring, Katherine and I decided to open our hearts and home to more feline companionship after losing our own wonderful cat of 16 years,” Perry says.

“Enter Benny and Marvin (formerly Bermuda). They arrived at Furry Friends together, having shared a journey that included a life-altering procedure – the amputation of their back right legs on the same day! This shared experience had forged a unique bond between them, and their foster parent realized that they should stay together. We were immediately drawn to the idea of adopting a bonded duo, knowing they would have one another for company when we weren’t in the house. The fact that these two special needs kitties had already formed such a strong connection sealed the deal.

“It didn’t take them long to feel comfortable here, and after a few months, their two distinct personalities have come shining through. Benny, a gentle giant, adores watching out windows, stretching and getting belly rubs. He also loves greeting us at the door when we get home and tightly hugging our feet once we take our shoes off. Marvin, on the other hand, has two modes: cuddle on your chest sweetheart or energetic child with Red Bull! He’s a true toy enthusiast who chases balls, plays with ropes, and circles after toys in his donut toy.

“Both of them love exploring the garage (the ‘playground’), chasing lasers and hunting strings. While Benny and Marvin have their own beds, there are also other spots where they like to spend the night. Mornings might find them snuggled together on Benny’s bed, lounging on window hammocks or seeking warmth on heated blankets and beds during colder months. On occasion they’ll come and cuddle with us or remind us about breakfast!

“These sweet boys may not share the same mother and are polar opposites in many ways, but they look after one another as only true brothers can. Not to mention the fact that they are now cherished members of our own, loving family.”
