Appleton and Marshall Jackson: Furry Friends Fur-Ever
“I had several cats growing up, and currently have one named Bizkit,” says Marshall. “My boyfriend Soren and I first found Appleton on the Furry Friends’ website, and were instantly taken with his huge baby blue eyes and fluffy white and orange coat.
“We met and adopted him at PetSmart last October and immediately fell in love with him. We had wanted to get another cat because Bizkit had been lonely after the death of his best friend, my pet rabbit. When we first brought him home, Appleton was especially eager to explore his new environment, adjusted immediately and had the time of his life! In fact, he purred non-stop and made little biscuits whenever he took a break from exploring.
“Bizkit, though, was unimpressed, and it took months for him to even tolerate Appleton. Nonetheless, Appleton, who was obsessed with Bizkit, desperately wanted to be his friend. Bizkit aside, Appleton has been a great addition to the family and everyone, including those who ‘don’t like cats,’ adore him. He loves getting all of the attention and pets, and he’s improved my life immensely. As someone who’s struggled with long-term depression, having Appleton to brighten my day has truly helped. He’s such a goofball and he always makes me laugh.
“Although Appleton isn’t the biggest fan of toys, he loves one of my special mechanical pencils. Luckily for me, he does love cuddling. He loves lying as close to or on top of my face as I’ll let him, and he always wants to be in contact with me when he’s lying down.
“One of his silliest quirks is taking my underwear or socks and putting them in his food bowl, water bowl and most (and worst) of all, in the litter box! While it’s annoying, it’s very cute to see him pick up his favorite socks and place them in his favorite spots.
“Appleton is the strangest and silliest cat I’ve ever met, but I think it all contributes to his charm. We love Appleton with all of our hearts and I’m so glad that I get to be his happy fur-ever home.”
