Alina McClung: Volunteer Spotlight

“I just started volunteering with Furry Friends in January 2026,” Alina says. “I was looking for cat rescues to volunteer for in my area and this was one of the first I found.

“I work from 5 to 7 PM once a week, providing the cats with water and food, cleaning their litter boxes and their rooms and, best of all, socializing with them. I love cats, so spending time with them is my favorite part about being a volunteer, especially trying to get the shier ones to open up and get more comfortable. The reason I give back is because I love animals, and caring for them is particularly fulfilling to me.

“I’m an inside sales rep for a commercial HVAC company, and have a 10-year-old cat named Luna and a 10-year-old dog named Deogee at home. As for my hobbies and interests? I love music, practicing the guitar and going to live shows. I’ve been dying my own hair for a long time -- since I was in high school -- and I’ve gotten pretty good at it! I also love reading and anything that involves being in nature.”
