As the Executive/Medical Director for Furry Friends, Jenn Hutchman serves as the primary contact for all communications, including emails and voicemails, ensuring clear connections with the community. Her role is pivotal in managing medical appointments, scheduling, and intakes, while also overseeing day-to-day operations, social media postings, and group management. Jenn is responsible for writing grants, attending conferences, building partnerships, and organizing events. She leads a dedicated team of two staff members, oversees over 200 volunteers, and manages the care of up to 190 cats and kittens at any given time.

Jenn joined Furry Friends in 2019, bringing with her a deep passion for animal welfare. She has embraced her role with enthusiasm, particularly in bottle-feeding kittens and handling challenging medical cases. Her commitment extends beyond Furry Friends, as she also volunteers at the spay/neuter clinic, reflecting her dedication to animal welfare.

Her professional journey is supported by a range of qualifications, including certificates in Medical Assisting, X-ray Technology, Relaxation Therapy, and Vet Assisting. Jenn also holds an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services. Currently, she is pursuing a degree in Veterinary Technology to enhance her expertise in animal care.

Jenn’s dedication to community service is evident through her extensive volunteer work. She has been a volunteer at the Share House for over 20 years and has contributed to various causes such as Meals on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity, Veterans Assistance Center, and Recovery Cafe. Her life is deeply rooted in community service and animal welfare.

Outside of her professional and volunteer work, Jenn is a devoted mother to three wonderful children—Sammy, Lilly, and Kirby. At home, her family includes a charming group of cats and two senior Golden Retrievers, Max and Poppy. She shares her life with her partner of 15 years, who has been a steadfast supporter of her personal and professional pursuits.

In her personal time, Jenn enjoys making her home vibrant and lively through crafting, including creating dreamcatchers, wood signs, and other decor projects. She has a passion for tattoos, horror movies, and humorously notes that her favorite word is
the F-word—Feline!
