2025 Year End Review by FF President Jaimie Garver

Dear Friends and Supporters,

As we close out another year at Furry Friends, I’m feeling incredibly grateful for the community that continues to stand behind our mission. Every cat we rescue, treat, rehabilitate, and place in a loving home is a direct reflection of your compassion. Whether you donated, fostered, attended an event, shared our photos, or simply cheered us on, you made a real and measurable difference in the lives of the cats who rely on us.

This year brought its share of challenges, from medical emergencies to the steady stream of abandoned, neglected, and special-needs cats who showed up at our door. But it also brought some of our greatest successes. We are in the process of expanding our medical capabilities, strengthening our foster network, and placed many deserving cats into safe and happy homes. We tackled tough cases, celebrated the small victories, and worked through long days to make sure no cat was left behind.

I’m proud of what our whole team accomplished. Our volunteers put in countless hours, our fosters opened their homes without hesitation, and our supporters showed up every single time we asked.  The courage and resilience of the cats we serve remind us why this work matters, but the strength of our community is what makes it achievable.

I also want to take a moment to acknowledge something important. The progress we’ve made this year would not have been possible without the dedication, leadership, and many hours put in by our Executive Director and her team. Their commitment to the well-being of every cat who comes through our doors has been the heart of our forward momentum, and we are incredibly grateful for their tireless work.

We could not have made these strides without the long hours, and nonstop commitment of our Executive Director, Jenn Hutchman. Her drive to constantly learn, research, and implement better, more efficient ways of doing things has raised our standard of care across the board. She is always looking for improved medical protocols, safer processes, stronger shelter systems, and new opportunities to elevate the lives of the cats who depend on us. That willingness to push forward, adapt, and innovate has been one of the biggest reasons Furry Friends continues to grow stronger each year.

Looking into the new year, we’re focused on expanding our medical fund, getting our new medical building built and put to work, increasing our access to spay and neuter services, launching our community TNR program, and continuing to strengthen our operations so we can help even more cats in need. We’ll keep improving our systems, supporting our volunteers, fosters and staff, and building a shelter environment where every cat receives exceptional care.

Thank you for believing in this mission and standing with us. Your support makes Furry Friends not just a shelter, but a safe haven, a fresh start, a place of healing, and in many cases, the first gentle place a cat has ever known. I’m honored to serve as President and excited for what we can accomplish together in the year to come.

Cheers, Jaimie Garver
