“We’ve always had cats in the past,” says Britni, “and met Rachel at one Furry Friends’ adoption events at PetSmart.
“Often called ‘Rachey’ or Baby Rachel, we chose her because she was very cute and sweet, and my husband especially liked her coloring. Rachel immediately adjusted to living with us. She loves other cats and is extremely friendly, playful and sweet. In fact, she bonded instantly with our two other cats, Polly and Muffin.
“Rachel is, quite simply, the sweetest cat. She loves to snuggle and play. When we come home, she greets everyone at the door. Anytime you sit down, she promptly runs up to sit with you and accept snuggles. We have a dog named Jax whose coloring is similar to Rachel’s, and when we first brought her home, she immediatley LOVED him. We liked to joke that she thought he was her big momma (he is a large LSG mix) because they both have white fur with colored spots. She still likes to sit on his dog bed with him and curl up against him in the mornings.
“She LOVES running on the cat wheel and she’s so fast on it. She likes to show off and will meow for pets when she’s on it. She also loves playing with toys such as pompoms and chasing after kitty wands. She’s silly and is the only cat we have that will actually steal our socks to use them as toys!
“As for some of her other endearing habits: She loves attention and will follow us around the house from room to room. We actually had to put a step stool in our bathroom for her to sit on because she’s fascinated by the shower and likes being in the room anytime it’s on. Now that she has a stool, she sits there the entire time anyone takes a shower.
“At night, Rachel sleeps most often on our bed. She likes to sleep directly sitting on someone. Sometimes she sleeps snuggled up with Polly or Muffin. If she naps during the day, she usually chooses one of the window beds.”
