Bug and the Grows: Furry Friends Fur-Ever
“While I’ve had many cats in the past, my husband and I recently lost our elderly black cat, leaving us with two," Amy says.
“I met Bug, then called Cody, while helping his foster mom take care of some other kitties. He greeted me with the biggest orange eyes, then practically crawled in my shirt trying to get pets and affection! He lit up something in my heart the instant I saw him although we had no plans to get another cat so soon. (As for his new name: from the moment I met him, he was just a big love bug).
“For the first few days Bug stayed close, wanting lots of pets and making a million biscuits. Then, when our other two cats saw him, they were very curious and accepted him as the baby of the family. And although it was a slow but gentle adjustment, he loves to bring out their playful sides.
“Bug has been such a joy to have and to play with. He’s very cuddly and sweet to us, and everyone who meets him instantly falls in love with him. He LOVES spring toys, the brown paper from packages (he will run and dive bomb onto it), while his favorite toy is a big stuffed fish that he carries around and throws up in the air. And although he’s very cuddly with a ‘velcro’ cat personality, when he feels particularly playful he’ll only tolerate some quick loving.
“What makes me smile most about Bug is that he’s very talkative and will chirp to greet me or when I pet him, and will reach out if I stop petting him before he ‘says’ I can. He’ll also sit on the top of the toilet or the counter next to me while I get ready for work and reach out for pets.
“At night, Bug loves to sleep on the floor, but he’ll occasionally cuddle on the bed. Sometimes he sleeps on the cushioned kitchen chairs or sneaks into our closets.”
